If you are considering dry needling, it is best for you to consult our practitioner to understand its benefits and risk, and to determine if it is an appropriate treatment option for you.

Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy is an umbrella term for any treatment that involves the use of electric current.

By inducing electrical impulses into the body, we could trigger multiple responses such as muscle relaxation, muscle activation, stimulation of the neural structure, increase blood circulation, normalising the muscle tone, and reducing the inflammation process in our body.

Harnessing the advanced technology of electrical stimulation, Electrotherapy stimulates your body’s natural healing processes. Experience targeted pain relief as gentle electrical currents penetrate deep into your tissues, reducing inflammation and promoting tissue repair.

    • Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS): One of the commonly used forms of electrotherapy to activate and recruit dormant muscle cells to improve overall function.
    • Interferential Current Therapy (IFT): 2-pole or 4-pole, IFT is able to penetrate deeper as compared to TENS but with lesser user discomfort. It is commonly used for pain relief and inflammation management.
  • Russian Stimulation: Its distinctive protocol involving a burst modulated frequency at 50Hz triggers a 10s contraction response of the muscle followed by a 50s rest period. Russian stimulation is commonly used for muscle strengthening.
  • Galvanic Stimulation: Suitable for those who suffer from prolonged neurological degeneration that leads to demyelination and neuronal death, such as neurotmesis, axonotmesis cerebral palsy and stroke.
  • Faradic Stimulation: Similar to Galvanic stimulation, Faradic stimulation focuses on muscle relearning and muscle atrophy with a catch that it only works for muscles which are still innervated.
  • Microcurrent Therapy: Through transcutaneous stimulation, microcurrent therapy is able to  facilitate the wound healing process through shortening of the inflammatory phase and speed up the proliferation and remodelling phase.
  • Hufschmidt Therapy: Targeted at spastic muscle, Hufschmidt electrical stimulation is able to reduce the hypertonicity in spastic and athetosics commonly noticed in cerebral palsy, stroke and parkinson disease.

Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or seeking to optimise your athletic performance, Electrotherapy offers a non-invasive and drug-free solution. Embrace the convenience and versatility of this modality as it complements your existing treatment plan or stands alone as a standalone therapy. Trust in the expertise of our trained professionals who will customise your Electrotherapy sessions to suit your unique needs. Take charge of your well-being and embrace the rejuvenating benefits of Electrotherapy today.

High Intensity Laser Therapy

High Intensity Laser Therapy (HILT)  is unlike any other electro-modalities currently in the rehabilitation scene.

Aside from relieving pain, HILT is able to penetrate into deeper parts of the body to promote tissue healing, increase vascular activity, improve neurological function and regeneration of damaged tissues.

Discover the power of High-Intensity Laser Therapy (HILT) and unlock the potential for accelerated healing and pain relief. With its advanced technology, HILT offers a non-invasive and drug-free approach to address a wide range of conditions. Here are some of the key characteristic of how HILT works:

  1. Photobiomodulation: With its specific wavelength, HILT is able to penetrate into deeper tissue within the cellular level, triggering various cellular response and biochemical changes.
  2. Increased cellular metabolism: When Laser energy is absorbed, the body’s Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) production is increased which in turn provides the body with more energy for healing of damaged tissues and carrying out their function more effectively.
  3. Enhanced blood flow: One of the selling points of HILT is its ability to trigger vasodilation and relaxation which in turn increase the blood flow of the treated area. As blood flow plays a major role in tissue healing, the increase of blood flow following HILT is able to shorten the recovery period drastically.
  4. Anti-inflammatory effects: HILT is able to inhibit the release of  inflammatory and sensitising agents such as cytokine, bradykinin and prostaglandin which decrease the inflammatory process, simultaneously, HILT also promote the release of anti-inflammatory agents which leads to a reduction in pain, swelling and restriction of ROM.
  5. Tissue repair and regeneration: HILT is able to trigger the production of collagen, which is an important protein playing a major role in tissue repair and regeneration. An increase in collagen level is able to improve the strength and integrity of connective tissues such as tendon, ligaments and cartilage.
  6. Pain modulation: HILT specific wavelength can bring about a direct inhibition in the transmission of pain signals by blocking the nerve impulses and reducing the sensitivity of the pain receptors. When combine with its anti-inflammatory property, HILT is able to reduce pain effectively.

Experience the deep tissue penetration of laser light, stimulating cellular metabolism and promoting the production of ATP for enhanced energy and tissue repair. Feel the benefits of increased blood flow, reducing inflammation and delivering vital nutrients to promote healing. Harness the anti-inflammatory effects of HILT to relieve pain and improve your quality of life. Trust in the remarkable potential of High-Intensity Laser Therapy and embark on a path to faster recovery and lasting well-being.

Neurodynamic Manual Therapy

Our nerves and neurological structures play an important role in our daily activities.

Neurodynamic Manual Therapy focuses on relieving the tension as well as maintaining the health of our neural tissue, to improve our motor and sensory functions.

Stretching or releasing of our muscles might not be sufficient anymore when it comes to spinal or peripheral nerve dysfunction as well as neuropathic disorder. Recent studies have shown that optimal neural tension and mobility is crucial for the body to function and heal effectively. Some of the common causes of neural adhesions are trauma, post-surgery complications, inflammations, repetitive motion or overuse, prolonged immobilisation, and impingement of the nerves.Through skilled hands-on techniques, NMT targets the nervous system, releasing tension and restoring optimal nerve function. Feel the freedom as restrictions and nerve entrapments are gently addressed, allowing for increased flexibility and movement.Benefits of neurodynamic manual therapy (NMT) include:

  • Alleviating nerve related pain such as neuropathic pain or radicular pain.
  • Restoring optimal mobility of neural tissues by enhancing neural gliding or sliding.
  • Enhancing nerve function by improving nerve conduction or nerve signalling.
  • Reducing neural irritation by freeing up adhesions or restrictions that is impinging on the nerves.
  • Restoring range of motion by reducing local neural tension
  • Enhancing our bodily function and performance with optimal neural function.

Neurodynamic Manual Therapy is a safe and effective method for managing conditions such as nerve pain, sciatica, and musculoskeletal disorders. Trust in the expertise of our therapists as they employ specialised techniques to retrain and optimise the function of your nervous system. Embrace the transformative power of Neurodynamic Manual Therapy and regain control of your body, enjoying a life free from limitations.
